MASON'S RATS - Environment & props concepts
Concepts done for the Mason's Rats (Season 3 of Love Death & Robots) for Axis animation under the art direction of Bram Sels (https://www.artstation.com/bramsels). Not too spoil too much but they are some rats going through tough times in this short movie, to the point that they needed a war hospital. I think it got cut in the end (probably because lots of props and characters and stuff for just a shot) but it was fun exploring this idea :)
Rat Hospital 03 - final concept adding more detailing on the floors, props and adding lights in the background to get a better read of the whole environment
Rat Hospital 01 - First early mood, trying to get the vibe of the moment that I imagined quite dark and grim
Rat Hospital 02 - Moving forward, changing the scale and adding a bit more details
Stretchers 02 - The one we went with, more rusty, more "barn" related, and with darker tones
Stretchers 01 - First concept, trying something a bit too modern and plasticky
